nce-a-month, since January 1993, L.A.'s queer/mixed
underground eagerly descend upon DRAGSTRIP 66 for an evening of messy drag &
trashy rock and roll. The club happens on the 2nd Saturday of every month, and
each one has a different theme. We encourage the crowd to dress in drag for the
theme (you don't have to come in drag, but it's more fun!) Our loyal patrons
frolic and mosh in a friendly environment that is transformed in to a palace fit
for a Queen, as much by the arty decor as their own fierce
revelry.
Supersonic DJ Paul V. spins it ALL hip and eclectic, (Rock 'n roll,
electro, funk, hip-hop, indie pop, mashups) while our gracious MC, Gina
Lotriman, assures a fabulous, comedic show, live on-stage. The atmosphere is both frenzied and
comfortable, from the packed dance floor in the "showroom" to the placid tete a
tete on the outdoor patio.

any notable alternative celebrities have become enamored by DRAGSTRIP 66's
kitschy themes and uber-cool crowd. Celestial sightings include Claire
Danes, Perry Farrell, Drew Barrymore, Marilyn Manson, Eric Erlandson, Scott
Thompson, Ann Magnuson, Anthony Kiedis, Flea, L7, Roseanne, Thrill Kill Kult,
Karen Black, Brian Grillo, Stephen Baldwin, Traci Lords, Bikini Kill, Mink
Stole, Roddy Bottum, Susan Tyrrell, White Zombie, Nina Hagen, Phranc, Redd
Kross, and Andy Warhol superstar Holly Woodlawn, among others. What these
celebs love about Dragstrip 66 is that they can hang out and dance like
regular folk---this ain't no brat-pack scene here.

verbody gets something different out of Dragstrip 66. One thing that is
constant, is that this club has one of THE most friendly crowds in Los
Angeles, and the pansexual mix of its patrons is a sight to behold. You never
know what to expect when you step in the door, and it's also become clear,
that the patrons are indeed the show, too!
